I love how much our citizens give back to the community! Learning about all the different non-profits and groups in and around Sierra Vista has been one of my favorite parts about running. 😊Today I got to attend three events that highlighted the spirit of generosity in our city. First was the Cochise Celebrates Giving event. This ceremony was held so the Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise and the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona could award over $100,000 in grant money to local non-profits. I had the honor of sitting on the grant review board for the Arizona Community Foundation this year and was astounded to see all the wonderful projects our local organizations are doing.
Then this afternoon I attended the 60th anniversary of the Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce, a group that proudly supports all of our local businesses. And finally, I went to the Carmichael Neighborhood Association, which is a local neighborhood group that meets to share information and plans events to better our community here on the West End. I absolutely adore these organizations and everything they do for our city and our community. They are the reason people love Sierra Vista and when I'm on council I will do everything I can to work with these groups.
